St David’s Choir Tour

To celebrate the 150th anniversary of the Boys and Lay Clerks the choir visited St David’s Cathedral between 30 May and 1 June. The choir sang 4 services including music by Welsh composer William Mathias and a piece specially written for the Abbey Boys and Lay Clerks to celebrate their 150th anniversary – God be merciful unto us and bless us (psalm 67) by Francis Grier.
It wasn’t just singing, the boys visited 2 beaches, the St David’s Escape rooms and the Bug Farm and played a lot of fun games at our lovely accommodation – St David’s Bunk Barns. As we celebrate Volunteers Week, we are SO grateful to our fabulous volunteers who drove the minibuses and chaperoned the boys on these intense three days. Also, to those volunteers who help to organise events and fund raise for these tours throughout the year. Mary Horner excelled yet again as tour coordinator finding wonderful things for the boys to do during the week – we are so lucky to have her with us at the Abbey.
